Another concern over TWBC’s regeneration schemes

Rightly in my opinion, the focus of public concern over the activities of the Tunbridge Wells Regeneration Company since its inception under Mr Bullock has been over the threat to the Civic Centre. This seems to have been lifted for the moment.

However, a list of redevelopment opportunties published in the Courier includes the West Station Coach Park. This site is on the trackbed of the former Tunbridge Wells Central to Brighton railway line and is supposed to be preserved for future railway use. The route of this has already been eroded by the building of housing at Groombridge and an extension of Sainsbury’s main store in Tunbridge Wells and the construction of housing or commercial properties here would probably be the end of any viable reconstruction of this railway.

Can TWBC confirm that there is no threat to reinstating this railway line?
